VACATION MANOR

BAND TO WATCH

It was one of those days where I was scrolling through Spotify feeling very unsatisfied. My ears were craving some serious new tunes, so I ventured into the unknown and delved deep into Spotify's New Releases feature which suggested that I check out Vacation Manor's debut EP, "Girl, Say."  Which has now lead me to beleive that Spotify knows my music taste better than I do because this band is full of slick songs that had me boppin my head and singing along in no time at all. I would describe them as a mix between Australia's indie music scene cool kids, The Jungle Giants and American indie rock band The War On Drugs - bright melodies with kick ass chord structures. Along with a seriously cool sound, they also have great branding behind them, so there is no doubt these guys will build a following in no time at all.

I. COULD. NOT. STOP. LISTENING.

For a band so young in their music journey, their debut EP is extremely sophisticated. Their signature sound is displayed throughout the entire album without fault and each song earns its own rightful place. A serious pet peeve of mine is what I like to call "filler songs" - you know, those songs that are just mediocre in comparison and feel like the friends that were just invited to the party out of politeness... yeah you know what I'm talking about. However, I can truthfully say there are no "filler songs" in this wonderfully constructed EP.  Have a listen, and thank me later!
