BILINGUAL TALENT
The amount of YouTube channels on offer today is enormous, you could say that there is a channel for everyone. However, more recently a market has opened up for bilinugal YouTube talent. This was first recognised back in 2015, when Univision built a multichannel network, soley for Hispanic YouTube, Vine and other online video stars, as well as partnering with Snapchat to create original content around Univision properties. Today, there is still a demand for this unique type of talent in the U.S Hispanic market - a huge market whose consumers remain vastly undeserved, and the opportunities to reach them through digital remain largely untapped. So I went on the hunt and found 2 bilingual YouTube channels that are making the most of this opportunity.
1. SunKissAlba
Alba Ramos has two YouTube channels, one English and the other Spanish, dedicated to beauty, fashion health and lifestyle videos. With two channels, she can connect more effectively with both audiences and has the potential to work with a different network of brands. How awesome!
2. DamonAndJo
Damon and Jo are two smart cookies. They got tired of all of those cheesy travel shows and took off around the world to film their own version for the millenial generation. Thus, their channel is predominately travel related, which in turn has motivated them to learn as many languages as they could. With English being their first language, they go beyond bilingual and occassionaly upload videos speaking fluently in Spanish, Portoguese and French!
